On Studying Japanese

Japanese fit my schedule, which was certainly a major deciding factor. I also watch a lot of Japanese movies and have read some Japanese books in translation (Tanizaki, Murakami, bits of Genji). I am excited to eventually be able to read Japanese. I am a little less excited about the work involved in reaching this goal, but that does not scare me too much for I am no doubt undertaking the study of the language. I have found no specific part of Japanese more challenging than the rest. I think it is all equally difficult.
